The Calgary Selects have come out on top in the 2008 PowerHockey Cup in Minneapolis Minnesota. The Selects dominated the tournament, going a perfect 6 - 0 in round robin play. After defeating the Minnesota Saints 5 - 1 in the semi-final game , Calgary faced the Minnesota Stars (a repeat of the 2006 PowerHockey Cup finals). Calgary defeated the Stars 3 - 0 to secure the championship.

The Selects end the tournament with a perfect 8 - 0 record, the first time this has been accomplished in the team's history.
