L. Miller 1996
A player who had all the tools; smooth ball handling, shot power and accuracy, creativity and vision. A willingness to play physical if required and high level intensity made him a well rounded player. A legitimate innovator of PowerHockey.
A quiet, lead by example type of Captain. He saw the entirety of the game and was able to notice details most missed. His serene hockey intelligence was in contrast to his rock and roll outwards appearance.
Earned many honors throughout his career including league MVP in 1991, a year he lead league in points. Led the league in assists 3 times. His offensive stats for his first 8 seasons are eye popping, especially considering the roughness of his era – 447 points in 92 games, 4.9 pts/game. Played key minutes in four appearances on Selects.
He showed his incredible versatility by playing in goal in his final season, carrying his underdog team to a Finals appearance. So impressive a playoff run, he was named MVP of the runner up team.
